Leslie Scheltens

Director Melenco Group

Leslie is a Dutch citizen born in Grave, the Netherlands. After working in the advertising business for several years, Leslie moved to South Africa in 1998 to become a member of the management team of an international business school, Business School Netherlands.

Leslie held a range of senior positions with the company in various African regions. In 2000, he transferred to the Caribbean as managing director responsible for Central and South American operations.

In 2002, Leslie returned to South Africa and joined the board of directors of Business School Netherlands. He managed the international expansion of the business in Africa and Europe. From dealing with diverse cultures and legal systems, Leslie has gained vast and invaluable experience in setting up and managing new businesses in emerging markets. He was involved in setting up a management information system for the holding company of the business school, and has managed multiple real estate projects that included responsibility for legal and commercial aspects, as well as negotiations.

Currently Leslie is stationed in the United Arab Emirates (Dubai) to specifically focus on the development of the Asian and African markets. Leslie brings his rich global network and marketing experience to Melenco and your project.

He speaks Dutch, English, German and Spanish.

Alejandro Gonzalez

General Manager

Alejandro is a Materials Engineer and a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) by the Project Management Institute since 2013.

Additionally, he also holds a Master Degree in Finance from ESADE Business School in Spain, as well as Master Degrees, in both Project Management (MPM) and Supply Chain Management (MSCM) from La Salle Business Engineering School in Spain.

His prior work experience includes being a sales manager of imported industrial equipment and a project manager of EPC projects for the Oil & Gas industry for a small engineering company, during which time he gathered knowledge in strategic sourcing and foreign trade, while implementing a project management methodology that is still in place.
In 2012 Alejandro started his own consultancy firm, focused in providing financial and strategic management services to private companies and individuals, of which Melenco was one of such customers.

In 2013, he formally joined Melenco as Global Operations Manager, to strategize and monitor execution of several key areas of the organization such as sales, finance, human resources and process organizational assets. In 2016 he became General Manager of the Group.

He speaks English, Spanish, Catalan and Chinese Mandarin.

Romeu Caetano

Director - Asia

Romeu began his career in 1996 with a big four accountancy practice and currently accounts for more than 20 years of experience in management, tax, real estate and supply chain management.

From 2006 to 2012 Romeu held several positions in Shanghai and Hong Kong, including heading the opening and business development of a boutique advisory and investment firm specialized in the real-estate sector, member of the board of directors of two Sino-Foreigner joint-ventures in representation of the foreigner shareholders and Managing Partner of a high-end tax advisory firm from Luxembourg, building a consistent network among Asian and Western groups, government entities, high-net worth families and specialists services providers in multiple key jurisdictions.

He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in Portugal and holds a Master degree in finance from ISCTE, Lisbon University, and post-graduate degrees in advance international accounting from INDEG/ ISCTE and tax from ISG, and diploma in international trading from the Institute of Export UK.

He speaks English, Portuguese, French, Spanish and Mandarin.

Santiago Barot

Head - Operations

Santiago is a Spanish national and holds a Bachelor degree in Business Administration from the European University (Barcelona, Spain) since 1999.

After working for a local textile company as a Financial/Purchasing controller and Treasury Manager in Spain he joined an international management and services company in 2007, where he developed different roles as Account Manager, Senior Account Manager and New Market Development Manager.

In December 2013 Santi moved to the United Kingdom after joining the Hansa Mercator Group as Global Operations Manager, managing accounts for Latin American and European customers.

In 2016, he became a member of the Board of Directors and Head of Operations for the Melenco Group. Santi brings great experience in establishing and managing organizational processes and institutional relationships.

He speaks English, Spanish and Catalan.
